How to Play Krillion

Krillion is a daily trivia game built around rarity. Everyone receives the same set of seven prompts. Your goal isn't just finding a correct answer — it's choosing the valid answer that is least overused in ordinary language.

01

The Shared Daily Set

Each day delivers seven consecutive prompts. Every player sees the exact same prompts, creating an even, community-wide test of vocabulary and recall.

02

Familiarity Scoring

The game checks dictionaries, encyclopedias, and real-world writing. Common words score lower; valid, uncommon words score up to 100 points.

03

The Daily Gem

The highest-rarity answer for each prompt is crowned the Gem. Gems are picked for both rarity and enjoyability — cold, unreadable jargon is passed over.

The Daily Loop in Detail

Start a day on the official site. You will see seven prompts in sequence. Treat each prompt as its own small round: read the wording carefully, decide what category it is asking for, then submit one answer before moving on.

The puzzle updates once a day. We deliberately do not publish an artificial countdown clock or per-prompt timer here. What you can always rely on is simple: a fresh shared puzzle arrives with each daily reset.

💡Fair comparison: Because every player tackles the identical seven questions, comparing your daily total with friends is completely apples-to-apples.

How Rarity Scoring Works

Behind the scenes, dictionary, wiki, and encyclopedia-style sources are aggregated and cleaned into a comprehensive answer corpus. Words and phrases are then scored based on how often they show up in real-world reading and writing.

Not every prompt collapses into a single mechanical number. In those cases, the official process combines AI modeling with human editorial review. That explains why two answers that feel equally obscure might score slightly differently: the algorithm evaluates genuine familiarity rather than subjective guesswork.

💎The Gem standard: The featured rarest answer must be satisfying and fun to learn, not a random sequence of letters nobody has ever uttered.

A Practical 3-Minute Strategy for Beginners

Rule A

Name the parent category

Determine what kind of noun is requested: an orchestral instrument, a geological feature, a medieval title. Ground yourself in the category first.

Rule B

Reject the first instant thought

Your first instinctive thought is almost certainly the most common answer that hundreds of other players will submit. Pause and search for a cousin.

Rule C

Reach for specific sub-variants

Instead of naming a broad parent word (like “flute”), specify a narrower member of that family (such as “pan flute” or “piccolo”) to climb the score chart.
